I have stood with the Glenaladale and Mossiface communities for some time now. I have advocated strongly on their behalf and will continue to do so if i am elected to represent the community on local council.
Our current council can do more than wait two years for an EES to occur while community members have to put their lives on hold.
Kalbar have treated the Glenaladale community with contempt during a non exsistant community consultation process.
Kalbar and anyone supporting the mine proposal should be held responsible for dividing a community and setting neighbors against one another.
The East Gippsland Shire has a social obligation to support their communities when they say no. Some current counsellors have held the belief that they have no say in Kalbars proposal that there is nothing they can do.
I to am very interested in what they now have to say and if their positions have changed.
East Gippsland should not be viewed as a world class mineral sands “province” our minerals need to stay in the ground.
I’m standing to provide a positive, environmentally sustainable and inclusive voice.
I believe we can do more to engage with the community and other levels of government to deliver for the people of East Gippsland on issues sorrounding mining and resource extraction.
I’ve got the skills to tackle these issues facing our region.
Vote Jeremy Schroder for a strong, progressive voice on East Gippsland Shire Council.
